Mini Update - No Longer Trash

Okay, so despite the title of the last update's devlog, I didn't intend for there to be so many issues. Turns out I had a blind eye to a lot of things! Well, that's why I'm uploading these unfinished builds, so I can get this feedback and bug testing! I've updated the build and managed to fix the following:

  • Kaiju battles won't break if you have Signosaur confiscate their ability
  • The cat's path isn't blocked by a pinwheel anymore
  • You can actually use the shop now! Last update, I added a text label that shows you how much you spent, but turns out I used a lowercase t in the code instead of a capital T, and that broke the shop completely in the web version. Oops!
  • I want to say the arcade minigame is functional now, but I've said that at least three times and something always went wrong. I'm hoping I actually got it this time. Geez, this minigame must be haunted or something!

Despite all that, the main reason I wanted to do this mini update was to fix the music lag issue, and unfortunately, I still can't get that part right. From what I've been able to gather, this is either an issue with the browser I'm using (Firefox) or an issue with Godot itself. I tried updating to Godot 3.5, but that didn't seem to help, and the advice I've seen is to not bother updating to Godot 4 unless your project is really big or running into a major bug, which... I guess this would count? I'll consider it as a last resort, but it seems like I'd have to adjust ALL of my code to fit Godot 4, and I'd rather not have to do that this late in.

Ponpai was never intended to be a web game in the first place, and the Windows build is running fine, so for now I'm going to leave it be.
