Ponpai Update 12 - Morchestria's Eighth!


Hello hello hello! I've been hard at work on this new update- Super excited to get some eyes on it! It's finally shaping into the game I've wanted it to be from the start!

  • You can now play Chapter 8! I've added the entirety of the plot of Chapter 8, accessible through a fancy woman in the coast (north of your house). Check it out- There's new environments, new music, even a new boss!
  • This new chapter also comes with new ponpai!
    • Trophaia, golden ponpai that rate and rank everything they come across!
    • Snootaur, elitist cow snakes that make the best tea in the world!
    • Swipider, thieving ponpai that sell your goods on the black market!
    • Marchmallow, marching skewers of sweets that can randomise your ponpais' placement!
    • Waycorn, tiny ponpai that let your team move farther in a single turn!
    • Jabbersaur, an old dinosaur that won't shut up about their childhood stories!
    • Ghoughamble, a trickster with a penchant for rigged bets!
  • A few more old ponpai have new directional sprites!
  • Enemy ponpai now have a 10% chance to have one of their unlockable attacks by default! This is to make repeated fights against the same species of ponpai more interesting. If you befriend one of these ponpai, they will keep the attack, but it won't be unlocked in their attack menu until the proper friendship level is unlocked.
  • When you access an app from the pause menu, there's a unique transition!
  • Once you win a battle, there's a 10% chance you find a random food item! They won't be the higher class food, but it helps!
  • There's another species of spider and bee to find if you're bug hunting!
  • In some areas, you can run into birds! They'll fly away if you get too close!
  • There's a Cooler Pendle giving a reflex test outside the Selarvi River Center! Give it a try! There's no prize.
  • Leveling up now cures you of status effects!
  • You can get fruit salad to cure looping!
  • Stay on the lookout for another Hide and Seek file! Remember, you can start the hunt in the bottom right corner of the main town!
  • Fixed the issue where moving NPCs would face up if you stood in their way. Now they face the direction they want to go!
  • Jasmine's hitbox is a little bit bigger!
  • The ability Ice Leech now steals HP during the frozen ponpai's turn, not their own. This gives the frozen ponpai a chance to thaw early, preventing any HP loss.
  • I removed the (somewhat hidden) mechanic where endlessly battling in the same area would slowly remove enemy spawns. I originally made this back when enemies didn't randomly spawn, to prevent you exiting a battle only to fight the same game object in the same spot. I forgot to remove that until now.
  • It's been three whole years since I started working on Ponpai! The birthday cake in Jasmine's apartment now had three candles to match!
