Video Devlog 1 - Making a Leveling System (and some other things)



Hello! It's been a bit longer than I expected, but a new update is ready to play! Here's what's new:

  • Jasmine (the main character) can face multiple directions while walking! Diagonals are still hard for her, unfortunately, and moving with the mouse locks her in place.
  • If you battle enough enemies, you can level up! This is marked by a yellow bar at the end of battles, but for some reason it only works if you're not playing a fresh game. Try saving!
  • Attacks look different from one another! Each type of attack (physical attack, buff, healing, etc) has a unique animation.
  • Two new ponpai: Beelect, an explosive honey collector, and Gastropaid, a rich snail with a penchant for gambling!
  • Enemies will spawn randomly around the map, and with a random set of enemies!
  • There's a screen transition between screens! On that note, if you enter the team builder and come back out, the overworld will look exactly like how you left it (instead of resetting enemy positions)!
  • The order of the bestiary has been shuffled, to help with behind-the-scenes stuff.
  • The icon for Twist Ponpai has changed.
