Video Devlog 5 - Sidequests and Coding Troubles


Hello! Here's what I've been up to these past few weeks:

  • You have a sidequests menu! One quest is the one Nico gives you at the start, and another is with the human in the bottom right corner.
  • There's a forest map now! This is needed for Liz's quest. Different ponpai will spawn between the two maps.
  • There's five new ponpai:
    • Empy, a blank slate that removes other abilities
    • Octopolitan, a living bowl of ice cream
    • Glamelt, a wannabe matchmaker
    • Sascapture, a camera shy photographer
    • And the long awaited Cooler Pendle! They're Pendle, but cooler
  • There's items in the overworld that you can pick up.
  • You can toggle a checkerboard overlay in battles using the pause menu.
  • Copy attacks (IE, Mutarrion's Imitate) have an animation now.
  • The healing block is now a drinking fountain (but it functions the exact same)
  • Paralysis is now temporary.
  • When you're about to befriend a ponpai in battle, they'll throw a couple heart particles out.
  • Moving from seen bestiary pages to empty ones now don't show the previous overworld sprite.
  • The boss fight is now against the correct ponpai.
